Position: Operator - Wafer Fab 2nd shift (POD6)

Responsible to:

• Work in a semiconductor wafer fab related to the manufacture of electronic and photonic devices and other related products

• Process wafers and set up and operate complex process tools in the areas of photolithography, dielectric deposition and etching, metallization processes, metrology, wet chemical etching, and vacuum systems

• Investigate and resolve processing issues related to product rejections and yield variations

• Perform routine and preventive equipment maintenance, repair and troubleshooting

Competencies Required:

Required Skills:

• Minimum two-year associates degree in electronics, mechanical, chemistry, physics or significant equivalent experience in related field

• Must exhibit leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with minimum supervision in a teaming environment

• Ability to work with minimum guidance

• Attention to safety details as well as a quality mindset is required

• Ability to carry out written or verbal assignments

• Some weekends and overtime may be required

• Periodic qualification/certification will be required to verify initial and continued proficiency

• Proper training in EH&S is required

Desired Skills:

• Prior manufacturing experience in optoelectronics device fabrication is desired

• Knowledge of wafer fabrication processes is a strong plus

• Nanofabrication training a plus

• Working knowledge of Windows based computer systems

• Dexterity and previous manufacturing experience with mechanical or electrical equipment

Work Environment:

• Involves working with hazardous chemicals and gases

• Significant time spent in cleanroom environment or manufacturing floor will be required

• Wearing of cleanroom smocks and proper safety equipment is required

• Overtime will be expected on a limited basis
