History
CyOptics was founded in 1999 with the vision of providing core optical technologies to enable bandwidth for high speed networks. The company initially focused on the development of 40Gbps modulators and 40Gbps detectors leveraging its in-house Indium Phosphide fabrication capabilities. In addition to developing its own technology and products, CyOptics has added key technologies and products through a series of acquisitions:
| 2003 | CENIX, a developer of high speed optical modules using a proprietary manufacturing platform |
| 2005 | Optoelectronics Division of TriQuint, formerly the Optoelectronics Division of Agere Systems, Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs, a market leader in lasers and receivers |
| 2007 | Apogee Photonics, a developer and manufacturer of 10Gbps and 40Gbps lasers |
| 2007 | Inplane Photonics, a developer and manufacturer of Silica on Silicon Planar Lightguide Circuits |
| 2008 | PGT Photonics, a Pirelli Division, a developer and manufacturer of tunable lasers and Photonic Integrated Circuits |
CyOptics has grown rapidly and expanded its customer base to over 180 customers worldwide, achieving a compound annual sales growth rate of 36% from 2005 to 2011.
